Are you thinking of starting a career in Recruitment? If so why not think BIG!

Case study of a college leaver who joined EMS International in late 2017

John joined EMS International in late 2017 as a trainee resource within our Technology R&D division, His initial role was supporting a senior recruiter to generate qualified shortlisted candidates for mainly retained clients within a key R&D market with salaries to $200k.

By early 2018 it became apparent that John had a real eye for speculating candidates into new clients, mainly through the back-fill and Candidate flip route, so much so that in Feb he independently billed £13k whilst simultaneously sourcing candidates for his colleague to bill in excess of £40k.

By May 2018 the decision was made to promote John into a full Recruiter and he was tasked with developing a key R&D market in Europe. May was spent executing an MPC and BD strategy that had ben pre-defined to both new and existing clients. This worked, by the end of June he billed just short of £35k.

In August John billed over £50,000 and now has a solid pipeline of over £80k for September from both retained and exclusive clients across Europe.

A word from John

Coming into this industry with little to no experience was quite a daunting task when I first set out, however the support I have received is second to none.

I believe the training I have received from EMS has to be the best in the industry, the time and energy that is put into the delivery of the training as well as the implementation is great, without it I would not have any chance of achieving what I have already achieved.

I have had a team of experienced consultants and directors constantly guiding me along the way teaching me at every corner, but also allowing me to roam free and learn by doing, which I believe has been vital to my learning.

I am now jumping into a market with so much potential and I am excited to take on this challenge head first. I am passionate about the market, which has given me the desire to succeed and aim high.

By sticking to the training and the processes I have been taught, I have no doubt I will set out on a successful career within recruitment at EMS.

And this is just the beginning.

John is without doubt a bright and committed individual who takes guidance well. In addition, he follows his training to the letter and keeps to the well tried and trusted methods and structure he has been shown and mentored. Also, he is not afraid of hard work and will work late and occasionally over parts of his weekend if needed to network his candidates on Linked-in for that early bird opportunity or key requirement.

John is now on target to earn in excess of £110k in this his 2nd year with EMS International, not bad for a lad from Cheshire who has yet to hit his 20th birthday!
